Day 13 -Santa Cruz - Victor & Julie's Little Slice of Heaven!

We made it to Santa Cruz three hours later than planned after buying two new front tires on the way. It was just too far to go on the donut. This is the halfway point of our journey and we are happy to be in the same place for a few days.
Victor and Julie had an incredible dinner waiting for us and the casita was ready for our arrival. Their garden is astoundingly beautiful. You can see that they spend lots of time and energy taking care of it. After a delightful banana/walnut pancake breakfast with neighbors, Monica and Kilian, we set out on a 13+ miles bike ride along the coast - so beautiful! Getting ready for a BBQ with friends tonight. Life really does not get much better than this.

The casita - our home for the next few days!

The Juga - complete with workshop and stage! Lily in the foreground!

  1. I only recently starting following. You're really doing this by camping and without children? Way cool and very wild of you. Great photos!

  2. Thanks, Tom. Yes, no children. Some camping, some family/friends, some B & B and a few hotels along the way. 26 days total! It has been a wonderful experience. You and Bonnie should try it some time. Both of your kids should be old enough soon to be on their own. We skyped with ours last night and they are fine and the house is still there! :-)
